Rye Harbour is a love letter to a community still grieving the loss of a generation of men, 100 years ago, in the worst disaster in the history of the RNLI. Stories of unflinching bravery, selfless sacrifice and the cruel injustices that followed, have remained largely untold until now.
Adrian spent three years working with relatives, locals, and the RNLI to write an epic working-class drama that is historically faithful, rich with humour, romance, action and tragedy. The project has the potential to become an important cultural event that will potentially bring healing to the village of Rye Harbour and those like it who’ve lost lifeboat crew in the line of duty.
